As a patient and journalist, I participate in Conferences related to scoliosis to educate myself and exchange information with professionals in the field.

Scoliosis Day

On April 12th and 13th, 2014, I participated in an event entirely focused on scoliosis in Campinas, the Scoliosis Day.

It was two days of extensive learning with national and international lectures from doctors, physiotherapists, and professionals related to the topic.

The most discussed subjects during the meeting were specific physiotherapy exercises for scoliosis, the biomechanics and structure of scoliosis formation, and the psychosocial impacts of the deformity.

Treating Scoliosis for Parents and Kids

Treating Scoliosis for Parents and Children

The Brazilian Scoliosis Treatment Association held the second edition of the event Treating Scoliosis for Parents and Children on August 5, 2023. It was an online event that featured the participation of national and international healthcare professionals specializing in scoliosis.

During the event, we had testimonials from parents, mothers, and patients who have gone through or are currently dealing with the challenges brought by scoliosis.

We also had a panel with various professionals addressing relevant topics related to scoliosis treatments and answering participants' questions.

Another very special moment of information exchange and learning!

II AACD International Scoliosis Symposium

On June 30 and July 1, 2023, I attended the II AACD International Scoliosis Symposium, where various scoliosis topics were discussed by experts in the field.

One of the most talked-about subjects at this event was adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, which prompted a live blog post while I was still at the event, sitting in the front row.

Another topic discussed at the symposium was neuromuscular scoliosis and its challenges.

The content was so important that I also used the knowledge shared at the symposium to write about the complex scoliosis surgery.
